Case Summary

Plaintiffs and Class Representatives Joshua Austin, Roberto Mireles, III, and Alex Brown and the class are current or former employees of Defendant who test and inspect fire alarm and sprinkler systems. Plaintiffs allege that Defendant failed to pay Plaintiffs and the class prevailing wages and overtime pay for their testing and inspection work on public works projects. Plaintiffs assert claims under the Federal Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Labor Code, and Business and Professions Code. Plaintiffs obtained preliminary approval of a class action settlement with a settlement amount of $425,000 for 66 individuals. The class is represented by Bryan Schwartz Law, P.C., of Oakland, CA, and Beranbaum Menken, of New York City.
