Bryan Schwartz Law Hires Hillary Jo Baker as First Associate at the Oakland-Based Civil Rights, Employment Law Firm

December 9, 2009, Oakland --Bryan Schwartz Law is pleased to announce that Hillary Jo Baker has joined the firm as its first associate attorney.

Ms. Baker is a 2009 graduate of the University of California Hastings College of Law and a new member of the California Bar. Prior to joining Bryan Schwartz Law, Ms. Baker was a law clerk at: Goldstein, Demchak, Baller, Borgen and Dardarian; Lewis, Feinberg, Lee, Renaker and Jackson; Nichols Kaster; and the Center for WorkLife Law. She was also an extern to the Honorable Claudia Wilken in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, a Legal Aid Society—Employment Law Center clinic counselor, a Street Law teacher at Mandela High School in Oakland, and an intern with the Racial Justice Project of the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California. Ms. Baker was an executive editor on the Hastings Women's Law Journal and the author of the note, No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Protecting Gender Discrimination Named Plaintiffs from Employer Attacks, published in that journal. Ms. Baker is also a Tony Patiño Fellow, which is awarded annually to a select few incoming UC Hastings students for leadership, public service, and academic achievement.
